RISING FROM ASH
July 26, 2019
Rising from Ash begins a new series following Phoenix and Ash as they fall in love and build a life together. This book isn't just for folks who are on the asexual spectrum, but for anyone looking for ways to navigate different sexual needs in their relationship. Note, there is sex in this book.
Phoenix Murray has had enough. Enough of her incompetent boss. Enough of her addict father always asking for money. Enough of the struggle to survive. So when her aunt offers her a job as a cook at the South Pole, she jumps at it. Even when she’s asked to avoid casual sex to keep the peace in the tiny community.
Astrophysicist Ashley Bennett can’t wait for her year at the South Pole. Not only will it allow her to focus on her PhD research, it’s a key step in her plan to become a Mars colonist. Avoiding the complications of dating in a society that doesn't understand asexuality is a bonus.
When Phoenix and Ash meet, they can’t help but push each other’s buttons. Phoenix doesn’t understand that her confident sexuality puts Ash on edge while Ash’s curt formality triggers Phoenix’s insecurities about her upbringing. But living at the bottom of the world means there’s nowhere to run, and as they find common ground, their differences aren’t nearly the hindrance they thought.
Rising From Ash is the first book in the Forged by Fire series, a slow burn contemporary lesbian romance that shows the power of intimacy to form a new life.

My debut novel, Dal Segno tells the story of Cameron Warren finding love after losing her partner of 15 years. While covering sad and emotionally intense topics, the story is heartwarming and sweet.
On the verge of turning 40, Marine Cameron ‘Cam’ Warren didn’t expect to be walking onto a community college campus to spend a year playing music. Instead of enjoying her career, Cam is still mourning the tragic death of her partner and fellow Marine Sharon. Five years have now passed she is no further forward in dealing with her grief. Cam knows she needs to change so she can heal. Will taking a sabbatical to play the drums allow her to live fully again, connecting her to emotions in ways her autism has always prevented?
Jazz pianist and teacher Laura Clark has had enough of city life on the east coast and yearns for the quiet beauty of Colorado. When a faculty position opens at a small community college in Ft. Collins, she jumps at the chance to start a new life. However, what she couldn’t predict was that one of her star students was about to walk back into her life, 20 years later.
When Cam to the new jazz ensemble she is shocked to see her high school music teacher, a thousand miles away from the small town where Ms. Clark first introduced her to jazz. But Cam is no longer a kid and, as their chemistry grows stronger, Cam has to choose which path her life will take - will she choose love or will she choose fear?
Dal Segno is a lesbian romance that shows the power of revisiting the past to create a different result. Everything changes the second time around….
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Becoming an author was never one of my goals. Writing Dal Segno just happened over the course of a few months, much to my surprise. With that book under my belt, I've caught the writing bug and have multiple stories waiting to be written.
I live in the Denver Metro area of Colorado with my wife and young daughter who occasionally make an appearance on my twitter feed.
I am a voracious reader, especially of lesbian romance which I turned to after "the election" of he who must not be named. Knowing the story always works out, no matter how impossible the odds, keeps my hope strong.
I'm a relatively open book so feel free to email me or contact me on social media. Don't forget about my newsletter which will be infrequent but keep you in the loop for upcoming releases.
Thank you for reading!
